Strawberry Ladybugs And Cool Tip To Remove Stems. Super creative and healthy idea. Get your children involved in the process and make it also a fun family activity.

Strawberry Ladybugs

These Strawberry Ladybugs are also a great idea for a snack or party. Kids and adults will love them.  Making fun food is also a great way to encourage kids to eat more fruits.  We all need to eat our fruits and vegetables everyday.  For more information please see Top 10 Reasons Why You Need To Eat Fruit.

Strawberry Ladybugs And Cool Tip To Remove Stems

Simple, healthy, and super creative snack idea for you and your family. Serve them at your next party or gathering and enjoy delicious strawberries.

What you need for your Strawberry Ladybugs:

  • Strawberries
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Blueberries or small grapes
  • Toothpicks (optional-not recommended if served to small kids)
  • Lettuce (for decoration)

Instructions:

First, wash the strawberries really well and remove the stem and leaves.

A great tip for removing the stem and leaves is to use a straw.  Insert a straw at the bottom of the strawberries and push all the way. The stem and leaves will come right off. It really works! I was amazed the first time I tried this.

I now use a straw all the time when I am serving strawberries. Not only is it easy but won’t waste a lot of the fruit.

Now start making you adorable strawberry ladybugs. Cut the strawberries in half length wise and start making your strawberry ladybugs. You can use a blueberry or small grape for the heads.

Then, push in upside down mini chocolate chips for spots. To hold it all together, you can also insert a toothpick. Just be careful to remove them if toddlers are going to eat the Strawberry Ladybugs.

You can serve over greens for decoration, or just a fun tray.
