Yes, it is time to go back to school again and we need at least 5 Back To School Healthy Lunchbox Ideas! One of mom’s biggest tasks is giving her kids lunch boxes filled with good and healthy food. With easy to prepare ideas and a few cool gadgets, you can be ready!
I always like to send fresh fruits for snacks. What can be a better than fresh fruit for a morning snack? Fresh fruit and yogurt or kefir are great back to school healthy lunchbox ideas. For an afternoon snack, my son’s favorite is hummus with veggie chips. Broccoli and Cauliflower Nuggets are also a great school lunchbox idea and a great way to eat more vegetables.
There are thousand of lunch containers out there and I try to stay away from plastic as much as I can. I would like to share with you my favorite 5 back to school healthy lunchbox ideas and products.
5 Back To School Healthy Lunchbox Ideas
1.- Planetbox is my favorite lunchbox. It is made of stainless steel, part bento box, part TV dinner tray, these containers are the best way to pack delicious, no waste meals for school, work, or on the go! You can also get cool magnets to decorate. My son loves it! Notice how the different sections show you how to pack your kid’s lunch with fruits, veggies, protein, whole grains, and a small section for sweets. Great for sandwiches or sushi sandwiches too!
Our favorite lunch combinations: fresh fruit, cheese, veggie chips, guacamole, Mickey Mouse sandwiches and a chocolate chips for dessert. Egg salad, chicken salad, cucumber/avocado/humus are all great sandwich ideas. Other cool sandwich cutters are the Munchkin 3 Piece Silly Sandwich Cutter Set and the Wilton Comfort Grip Star Cutter.
Planetbox ships worldwide! You can purchase directly from their website: http://www.planetbox.com Check out their awesome ideas for snacks and lunches, three different lunch packing systems, and cool lunchbox accessories. 2.-Brinware containers with silicone covers. Brinware offers a great alternative to plastic tableware. Their products are made with the safest proven materials available including food-grade silicone covers and tempered glass that are microwave and dishwasher safe! Great to send leftovers for school lunch! I love this Food Container because it is made of glass and protected by a silicone cover.
What can be better than a warm lunch? Remember it is not safe to microwave food in plastic containers! This is a fantastic option if your child has the option to warm up food at school. Just send to school what your family had for the dinner the night before! Check out my recipes for easy to make family meals.
3.-Lunchbots containers for creative back to school lunchbox ideas. I really like this brand. High quality stainless steel, a great and healthier alternative to plastic containers. The container keeps food warm for hours and the size is also great for kids. I like to send snacks, sauces, and warm food in lunchbots containers. I also have the LunchBots Dips Condiment Containers for sending sauces and dips.
4.-I highly recommended a stainless steel bottle. After trying many water bottles, I find the Thermos FUNtainer Bottle to be the best option. It keeps water cold for hours! It is also great because it is plastic free and has a straw that is super easy for little kids to handle. It hold 12 ounces. They have great Disney designs and as you can see, my son loves Mickey Mouse so that was his choice. Thermos also has an insulated Thermos FUNtainer Food Jar that is great for sending hot lunches for a small child (10 ounces).
Try to send different lunchbox ideas all the time. The more variety the better. Try also to limit processed snacks and be sure to send fresh fruits and vegetables daily. Making school lunches fun is a great way to get picky eaters to try new foods. Get your kids involved in the process and teach healthy eating habits that will last a lifetime!
5. Fresh fruits and veggies. Finger foods are great for school. Fruits and vegetables can be more fun to eat if you use cool cutters. You can just get fun Cutters at dollar stores or from Amazon. Fresh is always best! These are a couple of my favorite snacks for school: watermelon fries with yogurt dip and carrots and cheese.

You are never too old to start eating healthy or too old to have a cool lunch box for work! I lead by example, for instance, I would love a donut now and then, but what it can do your health, I don’t love and don’t want to deplete my good gut bugs. Fill your lunch box with healthy alternatives to the afternoon cup of coffee or candy bar.
