Some detox water recipes include several ingredients, while others only include one. Each ingredient adds its own health benefit ranging from weight loss to boosting energy levels, detoxing the liver, detoxing the kidneys, etc.
Just pick your favorite ingredients and drink your fabulous detox water. I personally like to drink a glass of lemon water in the mornings on an empty stomach. It really gives me energy to start a busy day. After about an hour, I have breakfast and I am ready to go.
One of my favorite combinations is lemon with mint. My kids really enjoy it too. It is the perfect drink for a party or small gathering. It is refreshing, natural, healthy and satisfies anyone’s thirst.
Find below a list of my favorite 6 ingredients to make detox water recipes. It is up to you and your personal taste, but know that detox water is great for your health. It will make you feel more energized and will improve your digestion.
6 Detox Water Recipes
Lemon or Lime
High in Vitamin C, lemon or lime water helps create digestive enzymes. Either squeeze one lemon or lime into your water or add thin slices (as shown in the photo)
Apple Cider Vinegar
Adding 2-3 teaspoons of vinegar to your water can remove toxins from the body, improve digestion and boost your metabolism. It can also help balance pH levels in the body.
Fresh Mint Leaves
Mint leaves can improve bile flow and functions of the salivary glands. They also produce digestive enzymes which help absorb vitamins and nutrients in food. Mint leaves can also help relieve an upset stomach. Add a couple to your glass of water and enjoy.
Cucumber
Cucumbers are high in fiber, which aids in digestion and healthy bowel movements. Add half of a thinly sliced cucumber to your glass of water.
Cinnamon
Add one stick of cinnamon to your water to improve digestion. It can help relieve IBS by killing bacteria and healing infections in the GI tract.
Ginger
Known for relieving cramps, gas, bloating and indigestion. Cut fresh ginger into small pieces, add to water and let soak overnight. This will allow the water to absorb the nutrients. One ginger will be enough for a big jar.

On your water, do you add ginger to cold water and let it steep or just gold water?
Also the other waters, do you eat the cucumbers? How long to step in water and drink to get benefits? I actually have questions regarding all the waters. I need help with digestive problems due to mild gastritis after having h pylori bacteria and strong dose ofantibiotics. My daughter will be living in dorms this Fall and we don’t get flu shots. I want to keep her healthy, because it will be different living with other people. Thank you !

Hi, I recommend good supplementation and also natural ways to boost the immune system. We don’t get flu shots either. You can see some suggestions in here: https://www.creativehealthyfamily.com/category/wellness/ I love probiotics and detox baths to stay away from colds and the flu. No, you don’t need to eat the veggies or fruits in the detox water recipes. For the ginger, you can just add it to cold or hot water and if it bothers you, strain it. Hope this helps!

I saw the probiotic you use for your children. My daughter is 18. Is there a good brand you recommend? There are so many different brands and strains that it is very confusing if you have never taken a probiotic before. We stay away from medicine, chemicals, I only clean house with natural things, we eat organic and home cooked meals, my daughter and I are vegetarian. She cannot swallow pills, so if she take a multivitamin or probiotic it has to be a chewable or liquid. Do you have any natural suggestions for menstrual cramps? She gets them pretty bad every month and we do not like taking tylenol or motrin. Thank you, I know this is a lot!

Hi Alicia, no problem! I love Raw probiotics for kids and I always mix the powder in my kids smoothies in the mornings. The powder really has no taste so you can even mix it with water. I take it myself too but I think they have another one in powder form for adults. It is from Garden of Life. I really trust the brand and after a lot of research it is the one I chose for my family. I also like organic products and all natural ingredients for my home. They actually have a few options in powder form for probiotics. Take a look here: https://www.gardenoflife.com/content/?s=powder+probiotics
For menstrual cramps (I used to suffer from those a lot) I would take ginger or chamomile tea. A hot ginger tea used to give me some relief. Hope this helps 🙂
