I made this Crock Pot Chicken And Yams Stew recipe for dinner yesterday and it was delicious! The chicken comes out super tender and together with the yam is such a wonderful combination.
You can use yams or sweet potatoes for this recipe. Replace potatoes with sweet potatoes or yams and you’ll get more fiber and vitamin A. Sweet potatoes and yams contain vitamin C and iron, two nutrients that you need for a strong immune system, and folate, which can prevent certain birth defects too!
I use the Cuisinart MSC-600 crock pot. You can serve this meal with rice, couscous or Quinoa. Excellent family meal!
Crock Pot Chicken and Yams
Ingredients:
1 pound skinless/boneless chicken (I used thighs)
3 large yams
1/4 cup Soy Sauce
1/4 cup Teriyaki Sauce
1 teaspoon Turmeric Root Powder
1 teaspoon minced garlic
Pinch of salt
Instructions:
Just cut the yams in small squares and place everything in the slow cooker in low for about 4 hours.
Perfect kid friendly meal too!
