There is nothing like the taste of homemade applesauce. Have you tried my Homemade Applesauce With Cinnamon recipe? Perfect not only for babies, but for the entire family. I am now sharing this new Homemade Strawberry Applesauce version. The possibilities are endless when you make your own baby food.
My baby has been enjoying different fruits and I now decided to introduce her to strawberries. They are one of her brother’s favorite fruits, and we always have them available at home. I decided to mix the apples with strawberries to achieve good texture and flavor. You can use your favorite type of apples. All you need is a Baby Food Maker (It is easier because you can steam and blend in the same machine), or just a regular steamer and a blender.
I also feed my baby with the BEABA First Stage Silicone Spoons, they are amazing. To store your Homemade Strawberry Applesauce you can use Baby Food Glass Containers (my favorite kind) or the BEABA Baby Food Storage Silicone Tray.
Once babies are six months old and ready to eat solid foods, they are ready to eat most foods, including strawberries, as long as they are in the proper form. Young babies need their fruits pureed, while babies at least 8 months old can start eating fruit cut up into fingertip-sized pieces. I will be sharing with you our experience and baby food ideas as my baby continues to try new textures. She loved her Homemade Strawberry Applesauce!
Remember, homemade food is always the best choice for your baby. Educate their palates from the beginning and you will teach them to love the taste of whole foods. You will be giving them the best start in life: good nutrition.
If baby doesn’t accept a new flavor don’t worry and keep trying. Experts says it takes sometimes 10-15 times for a baby to accept a new flavor. My advice is to offer them as much variety as possible. Fresh, real food from the start. For more information about homemade baby food please see Top 7 Reasons For Making Homemade Baby Food.
