Veal Marsala With Homemade Mashed Potatoes is such a delicious family meal. You can substitute veal for chicken too! Homemade mashed potatoes are not only tastier than boxed versions but healthier and so easy to make. Using fresh ingredients and avoiding processed food is always a smarter choice!
Veal Marsala With Homemade Mashed Potatoes
4 veal fillets
1 package fresh mushrooms
1 shallot chopped
2 garlic cloves chopped
1 cup beef broth
1 cup Marsala wine
Salt, pepper, parsley (according to your taste)
For the mashed potatoes:
4-5 big potatoes
Dip the fillets lightly in flour and cook in large pan with some olive oil and butter for about 3 minutes each side then set aside.
In the same pan sauté mushrooms with some olive oil, salt, pepper. Then add shallots and garlic and keep cooking for a couple of minutes. Add the broth, wine and parsley and let it reduce.
Finally add the fillets and mix with the sauce.
Homemade mashed potatoes are so easy to make: just boil potatoes until soft (about 30 minutes). I peel and cut in 4 before boiling. Then just mash the potatoes with some butter, milk and salt inside the pan. Add milk and butter according to the consistency you like. There is nothing like the taste of real mashed potatoes!
