Ingredients
- 2 cups Epsom Salts
- 20 drops of essential oils (Use your favorite one)
- 1/2 cup baking soda *optional if you want to remove stains
Instructions
- Place two cups of Epsom Salts into a container or mason jar and add the essential oils. You can use lemon, a refreshingly bright scent, or any other essential oil you like.
- Stir well and make sure the container lid fits snugly to keep everything fresh.
- You can also add baking soda if you want to remove stains but it is totally optional.
- You only need to use 2-3 tablespoons mixed with your laundry detergent for each full load you wash.

Sounds great. I have MS and allergic to all scents, essential oils are the worst for me, really all scents are terrible. Would using just the Epsom salts work for softening cloths, I’m guessing, yes, but, thought I’d ask? And I use liquid free and clear detergent and I sprinkle baking soda in w/the detergent in the machine, so, I would add the Epsom salts right along in the beginning of the wash, not in the rinse cycle? Thank you for this suggestion and your assistance w/my questions. I do usually, use free and clear commercial softener, but, would love to get away from this, even though free and clear.
