I really make an Easy Everyday Coconut Water Breakfast Smoothie almost every single morning. To me, it’s the best way to get my kids to start the day with the right kind of foods. Fresh fruits and veggies, coconut water and some supplements will make this breakfast smoothie a true breakfast of champions.

Easy Everyday Coconut Water Breakfast Smoothie

My kids love smoothies! I think breakfast smoothies are perfect because it hydrates them after a full night of sleep, and you can add important supplements for them to start the day full of energy.

I also love coconut water because it is a natural way to sweeten the smoothies without having to add refined sugars. Just use coconut water as your liquid base and add your favorite fruits/veggies. Then add some probiotics for their gut’s health. Some chia seeds for a protein boost. Or some vitamin D for a strong immune system.

I think smoothies are great because you can easily get your kids to eat lots of fruits and veggies.

My kids like some veggies, but I can’t get them to eat a lot of raw leafy greens. They just won’t eat them. But if I make a smoothie and add kale or spinach, then it is a different story. They happily agree. This coconut water breakfast smoothie is just perfect for them.

This is why I choose a coconut water breakfast smoothie:

We are not dairy free, but I do believe in limiting the amount of dairy we consume. It is recommended to have 2-3 servings of dairy per day. My kids love yogurt, and cheese, and more and more cheese. They can eat cheese all day! So, I think making this breakfast smoothie “dairy-free”, with coconut water, is really the best balance for their diets.

Coconut water has amazing health benefits. It contains antibacterial and antifungal properties, to help protect your kids from infections. Coconut water helps with digestion, hydrates naturally, it is high in potassium, magnesium, calcium, and low in sodium. It also improves brain and nervous system functioning, and overall strengthens the immune system. Amazing right? (SOURCE).

The more natural the coconut water, the better. I buy raw Harmless Coconut Water, and just LOVE the taste of their pure coconut water. It is not even pasteurized (you loose some important nutrients in the process). Really, it is the best thing after drinking out of a coconut with a straw!

Description

Refreshing and nutritious breakfast smoothie. Easy to make, healthy, and super delicious. Vegan, gluten free, all natural.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups coconut water
  • 12 frozen berries (or your favorite fruit *about 1 cup)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon probiotics for kids

Instructions

Just blend all the ingredients together in a high speed blender.

Serve right away.

Notes

You can add your favorite supplements. I like to add vitamin D for kids, magnesium, collagen, 1/4 teaspoon coconut oil, and vitamin C during flu season. If you want to add some veggies, start by adding 1/2 cup of fresh spinach to your blends. Just reduce a little the amount of fruit so the smoothie blends well. Try also kale. It’s super nutritious!

Hi! Thanks so much for posting this. I know I should be taking collagen, but what are the key health benefits for children and what brand do you recommend that would be suitable for the entire family?
